Handball is a sport for modern gladiators – physical, contact-driven, and demanding incredible speed and agility. Unfortunately, injuries are an inherent part of it, though many can be prevented. This expertise lies in the hands of the specialists at Rehasport, who, starting December 1st, will officially collaborate with the current Polish champion.
"We are thrilled to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the esteemed medical clinic Rehasport. This partnership is incredibly important to us because the health and fitness of our players and entire staff are the foundation of sporting success. Working with such an experienced and professional partner ensures our athletes access to top-quality medical care, modern diagnostic methods, and rehabilitation. We are confident that this is a significant step toward even better results and professionalizing the club further. We thank the clinic for their trust and look forward to a fruitful collaboration," commented Artur Stanowski, President of SPR Wisła Płock.
"For over 11 years, we have been a partner of the Polish Handball Federation, conducting training for national representatives, both junior and senior. Our doctors and physiotherapists care for them during training camps, providing assistance in case of injuries and celebrating when they quickly recover. We have extensive experience working with handball players, and it is a source of pride for us that the best club in Poland has decided to officially leverage this expertise, as we’ve collaborated many times before," said Dr. Witold Dudziński, President of the Rehasport Board of Directors.
He added: "We are fully aware that in today’s world, the life of an athlete from such a significant club as Wisła consists primarily of traveling and matches. On Wednesdays or Thursdays, they compete in the Champions League, while on weekends, they play in the Orlen Superliga. This creates additional challenges, increases the risk of injuries, and our support can help in these areas as well."
As part of the agreement, a dedicated Rehasport medical team will be assigned to the Wisła Płock Handball Section: Dr. Jakub Okrój, who will serve as the coordinator of medical processes, and Dr. Michał Konik, the secondary club doctor, supporting the primary physician’s work.
The clinic will provide medical care related to musculoskeletal injuries as well as diagnostics and rehabilitation for these injuries.
Additionally, Rehasport will conduct annual Biomechanical Functional Assessments for players designated by the club, as well as InBody structural body composition analyses.
